Danielle Carr, PH.D. Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Carr is a licensed psychologist with more than 20 years of experience. She provides individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in order to address challenges and help them live more fulfilling lives. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University and her Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia. She completed her doctoral residency at Brown University School of Medicine and her postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Carr has worked as a psychologist in a variety of settings. She spent 17 years at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. She assisted individuals with cancer to reduce stress and improve the quality of their lives, improve their health behaviors, and find ways to cope with their illness, its treatment and the impact their cancer had on their and their loved ones’ lives. She utilized a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness to help them to achieve their goals.

Dr. Carr has extensive experience working with both children and adults facing a variety of challenges, including chronic illness and other medical issues, anxiety, depression, and sleep difficulties. She has specific expertise in child behavior management and parent training. In all of her work with clients, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, implementing evidence-based treatments, supported by current research studies. Dr. Carr views therapy as a collaborative endeavor, where she values the innate wisdom and strengths of her clients and works with them to identify strategies for change.
